Tehanu visits the set of The Chronicles of Narnia!
This week I visit in the evening. One film crew is working early morning until mid-afternoon; the second unit starts at 1 pm and works until 1 am. Before seeing them, I have a look at some places that are starting to look familiar - the courtyard of the Witch’s house, and the great hall of Cair Paravel. Avatar is being touted as a futuristic, ground-breaking film, and as Weta digital's visual effects maestro Joe Letteri told ONE News, Weta, along with hundreds of Kiwi contractors are helping to make it happen. News for Sep. 20, 2007 Weta harnessed for gaming 'first' 9/20/07, 9:03 pm EST - Xoanon Wellywood's next hit could be on the small screen, with the release today of the PlayStation 3 game Heavenly Sword. The game's character dynamics are a product of the Weta Digital motion capture studio, which is part-owned by Peter Jackson. Jackson helped to develop the game version of his 2005 blockbuster King Kong, and Weta Digital's graphics were used in the Lord of the Rings' gaming equivalent. Jackson is leading the development of a series of games for PlayStation's main rival, Microsoft, based on the Halo franchise. Halo 3, due out next week, is expected to raise the stakes in the international game market. [More]

![]() Walden Media has taken on the project of turning C. S. Lewis' s beloved children s books, the Narnia Chronicles, into a series of films. They have the support of Disney, who are co-financing and distributing the films. The release date for the first film is December 9, 2005 in the US. Release dates in other Western countries seem to follow on closely within the month of December, as far as we can see at present. The director is Andrew Adamson, most famous to date for his work on the direction and screenplays of Shrek and Shrek 2. The Pevensie children are played by four British child actors.
