Narnia knocks Kong off UK box office summit

LONDON: Narnia, the big screen adaptation of the CS Lewis children's fantasy, roared back to the top of the British film charts over Christmas, ousting monster blockbuster King Kong after just a week. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe bounced back to the number one spot taking £2.8 ($NZ7.17) million over the festive weekend to bring its overall UK takings to almost £ 25 million, Screen International said. That meant King Kong, the three-hour $US200 ($NZ298) million-plus remake of the 1933 classic boasting astounding special effects, fell to second place. [More]
