Narnia Hits #1; Inspired-by Soundtrack Sales Follow Film Success

According to CNN online reports yesterday, “another fantasy world has joined Hollywood's* *instant-blockbuster club. Disney's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" -- adapted from C.S. Lewis' tale of enchantment, epic battles and talking animals -- debuted as the weekend's top movie with $67.1 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.” According to a feature in Variety posted online yesterday, “this is the second-highest weekend gross ever for December, behind only that of "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," which debuted with $72.6 million in 2003.” [More]
