EDINGBURGH, Scotland, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Tilda Swinton will receive an honorary doctorate from Edinburgh's Napier University, Scotland's first specialist film school. Swinton, 44, has accepted the university's invitation to award her with the honorary doctorate from the School of Design and Media Arts, The Scotsman reported Wednesday. In return, officials said they were hopeful Swinton, who lives in Nairn with her husband, screenwriter John Byrne, will become involved with the school's Screen Academy. There are only seven film specialist schools in all of Britain, The Scotsman noted, and the Napier University program is the first of its kind in all of Scotland. [More]
